The M249 is a world famous support gun from Fabrique Nationale Herstal. It is a light machine gun, capable of sustained fire for thousands of rounds, thanks to its gas operated high cyclical system, and of course the quick-change barrel (in case of extreme overheating and/or barrel jam). The M249 is of Belgian descent, based on the FN Minimi, and has seen action in every US conflict since circa 1989.
